About a year ago, Junior and I were playing Mariokart on the Nintendo 64 together. When we play, he sits on my lap and pushes the “A” button (the one that makes the cart go forward) and I steer.
After an especially close race, he became very upset because we got second place. I tried to comfort him by saying, “It’s ok, buddy, we got second place. Second place is still really good.”
Holding back tears, he replied, “No, Daddy, second place means you lose!”
